Today’s tour takes us to the most historic and secret part of Tenerife, the Pyramids of Güimar. Here we get to enjoy the interesting information of our own private guide, who shows us around the property and explains everything we need to know about this mysterious place. For a long time It was assumed that the pyramids were created by the local custom of stacking stones encountered during plowing along the field edges, but in 1991 the famous Norwegian Thor Heyerdahl investigated the site and concluded that it could not have been so at all. After a moment in the history, we continue through the beautiful and fertile landscape up to the nice village of Tacoronte and the wine cellar Bodegas Àlvaro. Here the guide tells the story behind the production of the farm’s wines and you get to take part in a fantastic wine tasting which consists of four different wines, white, rosé, red and moscatel. Along with these delicious wines, we are treated to several different typical Canarian tapas such as, for example, jamon serrano, papas arrugadas, cheese and mojo picón sauce. Here, in addition to wines, there is of course also the opportunity to buy some of the bodega’s delicious cheeses, marmalades, mojo sauces, rum and liqueurs, but also other organic and ecological things such as, for example, handmade lava jewellery, bags and ceramics.
